Since 1996, Born Free has worked with the Shamwari Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, to rehome leopards and lions rescued from zoos, circuses and other captive environments. The big cats are provided with a lifetime of care at the bush enclosures at Shamwari, which give them the space and privacy they need.
